Invoice Calculator with VAT (Moms)

Creating correct invoices is a legal requirement for all VAT-registered businesses in Denmark. The standard Danish VAT rate is 25%, which applies to most goods and services. This calculator helps you quickly determine the VAT amount and the total including VAT for any invoice amount. Whether you are a freelancer, a small business owner, or an accountant, having the right numbers is essential for compliance.

Danish Invoice Requirements

A valid Danish invoice (faktura) must include your CVR number, the buyer's details, a unique invoice number, the date, a clear description of goods or services, the amount excluding VAT, the VAT amount, and the total including VAT. Businesses with annual revenue below 50,000 kr are not required to register for VAT and should not charge it. Invoices must be stored for a minimum of 5 years according to Danish bookkeeping law (bogforingsloven).

When to Use This Calculator

Use this calculator whenever you need to prepare an invoice, verify amounts on a received invoice, or quickly convert between amounts with and without VAT. It is particularly useful for freelancers who invoice regularly and need to ensure their billing is accurate. Remember that VAT collected from customers must be reported and paid to SKAT quarterly or monthly depending on your business size.
