Calculate due date and pregnancy week in Denmark
A due date calculator is one of the most important tools for pregnant women in Denmark. By knowing your due date, you can plan parental leave, prepare for birth, and follow your baby's development week by week.
How the due date is calculated in Denmark
In Denmark, pregnancy is counted from the first day of your last menstrual period, and a typical pregnancy lasts 40 weeks + 2 days (282 days). The due date can be calculated from: first day of last period (most common), cycle length, conception date, or early scan (week 7-13). Only 4-5% give birth on the actual due date.
Pregnancy weeks and trimesters
Pregnancy is divided into three trimesters: 1st (weeks 1-12), 2nd (weeks 13-27), and 3rd (weeks 28-40). The nuchal scan is typically done at weeks 11-14, and the anomaly scan at weeks 18-21.
Ovulation and fertility window
Ovulation typically occurs about 14 days before the next period. The fertility window is about 5-6 days wide.
Weight gain during pregnancy
Recommended weight gain depends on pre-pregnancy BMI. For normal weight (BMI 18.5-24.9), 11.5-16 kg is recommended.
