State Pension Calculator 2026

Folkepension is the universal state pension in Denmark, available to all residents who have lived in the country for a sufficient period. It consists of two main components: a base amount (grundbeløb) paid to all eligible pensioners, and a pension supplement (pensionstillæg) that is income-tested. Use this calculator to estimate what you can expect to receive as a new state pensioner.

How much do you receive in state pension per month?

The base amount is the same for everyone at 6,905 kr. per month in 2026. The pension supplement varies depending on whether you are single or married/cohabiting. Single pensioners receive a higher supplement of 8,433 kr., while married/cohabiting pensioners receive 7,707 kr. per month.

What is offset against the pension supplement?

The supplement is reduced if you have significant income from other sources such as private pensions, employment, or capital gains, at a rate of approximately 30.9% of additional income. For single pensioners, the supplement is fully eliminated if you earn more than 438,190 kr. per year (2026). To receive the full supplement, your income beyond folkepension must not exceed 99,200 kr. per year.

What is the pension age?

The pension age is gradually increasing and is linked to life expectancy. To receive the full folkepension, you must have resided in Denmark for at least 40 years between ages 15 and the pension age. Shorter residency periods result in proportionally reduced benefits. Folkepension is taxable income — the calculator estimates tax at 37%.
