Fraction to Percentage Calculator

This calculator converts a fraction to a percentage value. Simply enter the numerator (top number) and denominator (bottom number), and the calculator will show you the corresponding decimal value, percentage, and rounded percentage. It is a useful tool for school, maths, and everyday calculations.

How to convert a fraction to a percentage

To convert a fraction to a percentage, divide the numerator by the denominator and multiply the result by 100. For example: the fraction 3/4 gives 3 ÷ 4 = 0.75, and 0.75 × 100 = 75%. Another approach is to scale the fraction so the denominator becomes 100 — the numerator then directly equals the percentage.

When do you use fraction to percentage?

Converting fractions to percentages is common in school, statistics, discount calculations, grade averages, probabilities, and much more. Percentages are easier to understand and compare than fractions, which is why converting between the two is a fundamental mathematical skill.

Examples of fraction to percentage

Here are some common examples: 1/2 = 50%, 1/4 = 25%, 3/4 = 75%, 1/5 = 20%, 2/3 ≈ 66.67%, 1/8 = 12.5%. The calculator also handles fractions that yield more than 100%, for example 5/4 = 125%.

Frequently Asked Questions

Sidste trin er at forkorte brøken. Decimaltallet 0,125 omskrevet til en brøk er dermed 1/8.
