Calculate concrete for your project

Our concrete calculator helps you determine the precise amount of concrete you need. The calculator shows volume, total weight and individual materials: cement, sand and gravel.

Concrete composition

Standard concrete consists of cement, sand, gravel and water. A typical mix is about 350 kg cement, 700 kg sand and 1,200 kg gravel per m³. This gives a density of about 2,400 kg/m³.

Thickness and application

For a terrace or driveway, at least 10 cm thickness is recommended. For foundations, 30-80 cm is typical depending on load. Always reinforce concrete with rebar or mesh for larger projects.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does 1 m³ of concrete weigh?

1 m³ of standard concrete weighs about 2,400 kg (2.4 tonnes). Lightweight concrete weighs 600-1,800 kg/m³ depending on type. Heavy concrete with special aggregates can weigh up to 4,000 kg/m³.

What is the correct concrete mix?

A standard concrete mix is 1 part cement, 2 parts sand and 3 parts gravel (1:2:3). For foundations, 1:2:4 is often used to save cement. For floor casting, 1:2:3 with finer aggregates is used. Keep the water content as low as possible for strength.

Should I order ready-mixed concrete?

For over 1 m³, ready-mixed concrete from a concrete plant is often the best choice – it's cheaper, faster and gives consistent quality. Under 1 m³, you can mix yourself with casting mix. A concrete truck typically delivers 6-8 m³ at a time.
