Calculate wallpaper for your walls

Our wallpaper calculator helps you determine how many rolls of wallpaper you need. A standard roll of wallpaper is 10 metres long and 0.53 metres wide, giving a coverage area of approximately 5.3 mยฒ per roll.

Standard wallpaper dimensions

In Denmark, the standard wallpaper roll measures 10.05 m ร— 0.53 m. Wider wallpapers of 0.70 m and 1.06 m are also available. The calculator uses the standard 0.53 m width. Remember to subtract doors and windows from the total area for a more accurate result.

Pattern repeat and waste

If the wallpaper has a pattern, you need to account for the pattern repeat. A large pattern repeat can mean up to 20% extra waste. The calculator does not include pattern waste, so order 1-2 extra rolls for patterned wallpaper.

Frequently Asked Questions

How big is a standard roll of wallpaper?

A standard roll of wallpaper in Denmark is 10.05 m long and 0.53 m wide, giving about 5.3 mยฒ of coverage area. Wider rolls of 0.70 m and 1.06 m width are also available, but the standard size is most common.

Should I order extra rolls?

Yes, it is always recommended to order 1-2 extra rolls. Wallpaper from different production batches may have slight colour variations, so it's important to have enough from the same batch. Extra rolls are also useful for future repairs.

How do I account for doors and windows?

A standard door takes up about 1.8 mยฒ and a standard window about 1.5 mยฒ. Subtract these areas from the total wall area before calculating. However, remember it's better to have slightly too much than too little wallpaper.
